Summer Conference

The inaugural Summer Conference is open to all College Fellows and Diplomats and members and is being held in Melbourne from Friday 20 February to Sunday 22 February 2009.

The venue for this event is Mantra Southbank and is suitable for families with one and two bedroom apartments available.  It is recommended you make your bookings early to secure your room.  Please make your bookings directly with reservations at Mantra Southbank.

The program will be low key, with presentations during the mornings of the three days only.  The remainder of the days and evenings will be free time.  It is also proposed to include a visit to an histopathology department of a pathology company.

Contributions from intending participants would be appreciated.  These should be either 15 or 30 minutes duration and may include special interest presentations or interesting case studies.We encourage personal research relating to doctor's own data base of patients, eg complication rates. Alternatively, you may have a practice tip or surgical gem you wish to share with us all.

All talks must be on Microsoft Powerpoint. Photographs and or diagrams are preferable. Time slots will be strictly adhered to. Allow time for questions from the floor within your time slot.

All College Fellows are expected to make a presentation and all Diplomats are expected to make a presentation at either the 2009 or 2010 Summer meeting.

A. Prof. Anthony Dixon wil give a 30 minute tutorial on making better presentation slides utilising Microsoft Powerpoint.

Dr. Helena Rosengren will talk for 30 minutes on antibiotic prophylaxis.

We also have a presentation on storage of photographs on Medical Director.
