Fellow of ACSCM :

Fellowship is the highest level of qualification in skin cancer management awarded by the College. There is qualification more substantial in Australia with regards cutaneous oncology.

College Fellowship is a post basic qualification. Candidates must already hold a fellowship or equivalent of another learned College. Exceptions may be considered for those with substantial exisitng experience in skin cancer. That is, many thousands of skin cances have been managed and demostrated in a log book.

Fellows are experts in skin cancer, regularly managing difficult tumours in difficult areas of the body, including the nose, lips, eyelids, ear, digits and legs. Fellows manage the overwhelming majority of tumours that present to them. Many fellows have most of their workload referred to them. Some will only accept referred patients.

Fellows not only manage SCCs and BCCs but also manage melanoma patients and those with rare and unusual tumours.

ACSCM recommends that Fellow candidates work through the Certificate and Diploma levels of qualification on their path to fellowship examination.

Few College members have ahcieved fellowship to date. Fewer than half who have sat the Fellowship exam have passed on first attempt. Current fellows are listed here.
